Frequently Asked Questions
What are the details of your 100%
guarantee on customer satisfaction?
We stand behind our work and will guarantee 100% customer
satisfaction as follows: if for any reason a client feels
that we have not provided service which is friendly, sincere,
and above the standard set by our competitors, we will refund
the full cost of labor charges for that day NO QUESTIONS ASKED
if it is reported to us in email or via live verbal
communication within 24 hrs. Furthermore, we will also
attempt to make amends for any such deficiency on our part with
an in person apology.
What are the typical costs to set up a network?
You might be surprised to learn that costs of installation
can be very low for a typical local area network, in the range
of $50 to $125 per seat for cable networks. A domain
server can be purchased and installed to manage an entire
business for $2000 to $3000 (total cost including labor,
software, and hardware).
Other options would include setup of a Linux server which
will have a much smaller initial cost, but may require higher
ongoing costs.
Can you set up our computers on a network, without a server?
Yes. Microsoft recommendations allow up to 10 computers
in a peer to peer network, WITHOUT any server at all. You
can still share files, a single internet connection, and share a
network printer without a server.
I'm fed up with my email provider! Constant spam,
limited mailbox size, and limited number of mailboxes.
What can be done?
We can set up an email server on your premises, with
virtually UNLIMITED mailbox size, and number of mailboxes, with
ANY name for the email addresses you want. We can also
install anti-SPAM software on it, to virtually eliminate junk
mail from your mailboxes.
Is spyware a type of virus? What can I do to ensure
I'm not being infected by spyware, and if I am, why is that bad?
There are many different kinds of security issues in the
computer world today. Viruses are program that don't
usually pretend to be friendly. Often times, they directly
damage your computer. Spyware on the other hand, was
developed in response to marketing departments of big companies
who want information about consumers, but don't want to ask for
permission to get it. Some people don't like spyware
because of this invasion of privacy, whereas others don't like
it, because it can slow down your computer drastically, prevent
the ability of programs to operate correctly, and often times
attempts to manipulate your right to make your own choices in
shopping and other behavior. The current trend is for
spyware makers to pretend to be protective against spyware.
In other words, they pretend to help prevent you from being
infected by spyware, even though they ARE spyware themselves.
Why do we need a website on the internet?
There are many reasons. First, the ongoing costs after
the website is first setup, are extremely small, compared to
traditional advertising. Secondly, a picture is worth a
thousand words, but in TV your picture is a very brief BLIP,
radio can't convey the full rich content of visual
advertisements, and print is both expensive and temporary as
well. Marketing your company on the internet can be a
laser targeting campaign, based on carefully placed search
criteria (such as are returned from doing a search on Google).
Lastly, because of the ubiquity of internet connections now, a
simple website address can be referenced on business cards,
conversations, and in other advertising media, as a permanently
freely available presentation portfolio for your company.
We've already got a network, and just need a little help
with it from time to time, not an ongoing contract?
That's not a problem. We customize our service to meet
YOUR needs. We are available on a per hour fee, contract,
or project basis. Because of our extensive experience, we
are often times able to quickly surmise the problem in a totally
foreign network or software environment, and quickly take action
to correct it. We are also available to assist in ultra
small individual support crises, such as potential data loss on
a single computer, or design of an executive presentation to
help you make a winning RFP proposal.
